Light It Up Blue for Alopecia Areata Awareness Month 2021

August 31st, 2021

Light it up - Blog

This September, in recognition of Alopecia Areata Awareness Month, we’re proud to help the patient advocacy groups raise awareness about this challenging autoimmune disease with an expanded #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata illumination program across the country.

Throughout the month, bridges, buildings and landmarks from Massachusetts to Texas to Alaska will recognize the importance of raising alopecia areata awareness and will be illuminated blue. We will be highlighting each illumination on the Concert Twitter page, @ConcertPharma, and LinkedIn page, so please feel free to follow along and share.

This year, the community is invited to join the #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata campaign. Here are two suggestions:

  1. Swap out a blue lightbulb on your porch light or in your favorite lamp, then take a selfie with the light and share on social media. You can find inexpensive blue bulbs at a store near you or online.
  2. Check the schedule below for illuminations near you and go see them in person, taking a selfie to share on social media.

If you light up your home in blue or visit any of the illuminations, please tag #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata in your social media posts.
