Alopecia Areata Awareness Month 2022: Light It Up Blue

September 1st, 2022

This September, in recognition of Alopecia Areata Awareness Month, we’re proud to help the patient advocacy groups raise awareness about this challenging autoimmune disease through the #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata illumination program across the country.

Throughout the month, bridges, buildings and landmarks from Maine to Indiana to Alaska will be illuminated blue to recognize the importance of raising alopecia areata awareness. We will be highlighting each illumination on our Twitter page, @ConcertPharma, and LinkedIn page, so please feel free to follow along and share. The current schedule organized by both date and state is listed below.

We invite the community to join the #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata campaign. Here are a few suggestions:

  1. Check the schedule below for illuminations near you and go see them in person, taking a selfie to share on social media;
  1. Is there a landmark near you not listed below? Reach out to your local landmark to request a blue illumination for Alopecia Areata Awareness Month, then post a photo with #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata
  1. Like and share illumination postings on our Twitter or LinkedIn pages listed above; and
  1. Join the campaign from the comfort of your own home by changing the light on your porch or in a favorite lamp to blue and taking a selfie with the light to share on social media. Inexpensive blue bulbs are available at local lighting and home improvement stores or online. Be sure to tag #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata in your social media posts.

Please join us and #LightItUpBlue4AlopeciaAreata this September!
